We are currently accepting vendors and entertainers for this year's faire. We are also seeking a wedding couple--if anyone is interested in getting married in our beautiful woods, they can contact the Chamber of Commerce for details. Hear ye! hear ye! A royal pageant the King decreed!! On the 2nd weekend in December the pageantry of a Renaissance Faire, celebrated in balmy South Texas, returns to the great oak forest of Ingleside. Nobles and plain folk will celebrate our historical and cultural roots from the 15th - 17th centuries. Guests partake of the folklore, the crafts, the history and the magic of these distant times. Come as you might have been in those days and enjoy the music, dance, food and the weather in our woods. Visit our craftsmen and merchants, cooks and artists or try your hand at feats of strength and skill. There shall be a Joust, new for 2007. Wizards and dragons, Lords and ladies, minstrels and fairies, players and actors will tread the boards, noble steeds and exotic creatures will gather to make merry and celebrate the season. This is a wonderful time to celebrate the Renaissance, which brought a rebirth of learning, arts, culture, and economy to the world. New ideas were born of a fascination with history, scientific curiosity, geography, evolving religious and political thought. The printing press fostered massive changes in society and education. Literacy became popular and profitable as more people learned to read and expanded their horizons. That expansion brought the first European settlers to the New World seeking spices, riches and conquest. Bring your friends and family to enjoy the many unique performances. Talented artists from all over the country travel to this popular Faire to perform their plays, skits, music, dances and duels. Also to be enjoyed are the royals in all their splendor, costume contestants and joyful wedding parties.
This was previously the Ingleside Renaissance Faire.
